Conceptual Summary
In this three-storey, single-family residence, the shell is a pure square made entirely of a single material, concrete, which is transformed into a celestial form, the sphere and is grounded in its thinking soul; Mother Nature is conversing with the shell. The site is surrounded by a factory building, low rise building & a pond, like so many outlookers. Considering the socio-economic conditions of that area, the building adopts a very simple architectural vocabulary expressed through a subtle intervention with form, material and vegetation. The design is also challenged the prevailing real estate trends by endowing the residence with a water court/ swimming pool. To ensure this feature enjoyed privacy, it was situated back side of the building.
